Getting a bus in Shanghai

Bus stop

Bus stop

If you speak Chinese there is absolutely no problem to move by bus in Shanghai. Of course you should avoid the rush hours, as buses can become very crowded and you will need a long time to reach the destination. Even though it might not appear at the first sight, bus drivers are friendly and they will explain you how to get to destination. If you do not speak Chinese I would recommend to take a taxi or the metro, as taxi driver usually do not speak English. If you decide to move by bus sketch the route and make some notes about the bus number.  Here a nice 3D map with bus stops and bus numbers.
